Getting Back On Track With Your Goals: How To End 2022 With A Bang!

We are approaching the end of 2022 rather quickly; however, it is not too late to get back on track with your goals. If you are looking to end your 2022 with a bang, then do these 5 steps to get you closer to achieving your goals:

Don’t dwell on what you could have accomplished

It is easy to ruminate over what you could have accomplished during the year but did not. Understand that you will fall short at some point in your life and that is OK. However, the way you respond to the setback is the determinant on how successful you will be. Learn from your past mistakes and move forward with your goals.

Adjust your previous goals to fit your current reality

If a significant amount of time has passed, it will be best to audit your current progress, if any, and reframe your goal to fit your current situation. For example, if your goal was to lose weight and your weight has fluctuated between the time you created that goal, you should adjust your plan to fit your circumstance. This way you can make your goal challenging yet achievable with hard work.

Get an accountability partner

Having someone in your corner to help push you is beneficial. People are more bound to do something when they know someone else is watching because they don’t want to let them down. It is even better if you can find someone with a similar goal as you. This can act as a bonding factor and allow you to build a community that understands what you are going through.

Assess your current habits

Examine the current habits you do on the daily basis and evaluate which habits are holding you back from completing your goals. Are you spending too much time on your phone? Are you eating too much junk food? Once you figure out the habits you’d like to get rid of, make the habits harder to do. For example, if your goal is to eat healthy, make it harder to reach the snacks by putting them at a higher level.

Don’t let more than 2 days pass without working on your goals

Always make time to do tasks that move you towards your goal on a consistent basis. Showing up everyday is more important than showing up perfectly. There are going to be times in which you do not want to do the tasks that will make you better. However, it is important that you work on it even if it is for a short period of time. You will thank yourself later.

Remember, it is never too late to achieve your goals. For these last few months of the year, dedicate yourself to changing your life.
