Family Counseling
Family Therapy
Address the root issues affecting how your family functions — together, in one room.
Family therapy looks at the family as a system: when one person is struggling, everyone feels it, and lasting change usually needs everyone involved. Sessions give each member a safe, structured place to be heard — and to hear each other — without the conversation collapsing into the same fight.
Together, we identify the patterns that keep showing up (roles, triggers, communication loops), name what each person actually needs, and practice new ways of relating that can hold up outside of the therapy room.
Common reasons families come in
- Frequent conflict, blow-ups, or a household that feels tense.
- A child or teen who is struggling and pulling the family with them.
- Blending families, step-parenting, or navigating divorce together.
- Life transitions — a move, illness, loss, or a new baby.
- Repair after a rupture — betrayal, addiction, or a major disagreement.
Common questions
- Does everyone in the family have to attend?
- Not always. We'll decide together who comes to which sessions. Sometimes we start with the whole family; sometimes we begin with parents, or with one child, before bringing others in.
- How long does family counseling take?
- Every family is different. Some families come in for a specific issue and wrap up in a handful of sessions; others benefit from longer-term work, especially through a major transition.
