Postpartum Counseling

The postpartum season is often described as joyful — and it can be. It can also be exhausting, isolating, and emotionally disorienting in ways no one prepared you for. Whether you're weeks in or well past your baby's first year, postpartum counseling is a place to be honest about how you're actually doing, get real support, and reconnect with yourself as you become a parent. Alexia offers warm, judgment-free care for birthing and non-birthing parents alike.

Postpartum Depression & Anxiety

Evidence-based therapy for the mood and anxiety changes that can show up any time in the first year (and beyond).

Postpartum depression and anxiety are common — up to 1 in 5 birthing parents experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder — and they are highly treatable. What they are not is a character flaw, a sign you don't love your baby, or something you should have to white-knuckle through alone.

In sessions, we make space for what you're actually feeling, sort out what's a normal adjustment versus what deserves clinical attention, and build a plan that fits your life — including coordination with your OB, midwife, or psychiatrist when medication is part of the picture.

Identity Shifts & Relationships

Room to grieve what changed, celebrate what's new, and rebuild your sense of self as a parent.

Becoming a parent reorganizes almost everything — your body, your time, your career, your friendships, and your relationship with your partner. It's normal to feel two things at once: deep love for your child and grief for the version of your life that came before.

In therapy, we'll make sense of who you are becoming, tend to the relationships that matter most, and figure out how to bring your needs back into a life that's suddenly built around someone else's.

Bonding & Processing Your Birth

Support for attachment, feeding challenges, and healing from a hard or traumatic birth.

Bonding doesn't always happen instantly — and that doesn't mean anything is wrong with you or your baby. Sleep deprivation, medical complications, NICU stays, and traumatic birth experiences can all get in the way of the connection you expected to feel.

Together we'll gently unpack your birth story, address any trauma symptoms (flashbacks, avoidance, hypervigilance), and support the day-to-day work of building a secure, responsive relationship with your baby.
